3 things to know about the bond market
Bonds are a debt instrument. Here, a government or company effectively issues “IOU” tokens to raise money. In return for buying these from a government or company, an investor receives a regular ‘fixed’ interest payment, called a yield. When the loan period ends, or the bond matures, the investor is paid back the full amount.
Yield is the return an investor makes on the capital invested in a bond. When the price of a bond goes down, the yield goes up and when the price goes up, the yield goes down.
Bond trading is also known as fixed income trading. With INFINOX, you can trade a range of government bond prices. This allows you to take advantage of opportunities in the bond markets without having to own these assets outrightly.
